Can lidar detect transparent glass?
Lidar is based on the principle of optical detection. The laser will pass through transparent glass, resulting in a certain probability of missing detection. We suggest adding some auxiliary reflection means, such as pasting frosted stickers, or cooperating with other non-optical sensors when using in many scenes of glass.
What is direct Time of Flight (dTOF)?
The lidar emits a pulse laser through the laser and starts the timer. When the laser irradiates the target surface, it will diffuse reflection and return to the photodetector. The photodetector will stop the timer after receiving the signal. At this time, we get the time difference when the laser receives the launch, which is the flight time of the light. The flight distance of light is obtained by multiplying the speed of light by the flight time of light, thus calculating the distance from the equipment to the measuring target.
What if I forget to customize the configured lidar IP?
After connecting the USB to Type-C cable, enter 192.168.8.2 in the browser to access the lidar web page again.
Can the lidar be equipped with a transparent cover?
No, the outer cover of the lidar is a part of our lidar optical system. If a transparent cover is installed outside, it will affect the optical path to a certain extent, thus affecting the point cloud effect.
Does the lidar support POE power supply?

Can the lidar support firmware upgrade? Where can I find the firmware?
Yes, please consult technical personnel for relevant firmware.
Can the lidar terminal beam be modified?
The lidar terminal beam involves all the processes in the production process. It is not necessary to customize it. If it is necessary to customize it, it is necessary to contact technicians to assess the technical feasibility.
Does the lidar support multicast mode?
Single-line lidar only supports unicast, but Multi-line lidar supports multicast.
Laptop does not have an internet port. Can I use a conversion port?
Yes, it needs to support 100Base conversion port.
How to use multiple lidars?
Configure the IP of the upper computer and network adapter as the destination IP of the laser lidar to send UDP packets, and set different lidar static IP and port numbers on the Web end of each lidar;
Connect the network ports of all multiple lidars with the network ports of the switch. The number of network ports of the switch should be greater than the sum of the total number of lidars and the total number of upper computers;
Where does RBView software come from? Is there a Windows, Ubuntu or Mac version?

RBView is compatible with Windows 10 and above.
After setting and connecting the lidar and computer, open RBView to display the point cloud information?
Check the network adapter IP configuration. The operation permission of the firewall to RBView (RBView needs to be allowed to pass through the firewall), and all firewalls need to be closed at the same time. Set to run with administrator privileges and check whether the RBView port configuration is correct.
After modifying PC IP on Ubuntu system, there is no point cloud output?
Use ifconfig to confirm whether the port ip has been modified successfully. Try to plug and unplug the lidar power supply and reconnect the lidar. If the problem still cannot be solved, please contact the technical support personnel of Richbeam.
Unit of point cloud coordinate value in RBView and SDK?
The unit in RBView is m, and the unit in SDK is mm.
In RBView, can the original point cloud data of laser lidar be saved in a fixed format, such as las.xyz?
The data saving function of RBView currently only supports pcap and csv formats. If other formats are needed, customers need to write their own code to save.

What is the wavelength of the lidar ?

Is there any delay after the multi-line laser lidar obtains the GPS synchronization signal?
No.
How is the trailing on the point cloud generated? Is there any way to solve it?
Lakibeam sends a laser pulse to complete the measurement each time it samples. The ideal laser pulse hitting the target is a point, but in fact, there is a certain divergence angle in the laser output, and the spot hitting the object is a plane. Therefore, when there are two objects in front of and behind, and the laser hits the edge of the object in front, it is possible that part of the laser energy hits the object behind. At this time, the return light is the superposition of the reflected light of two light spots. At this time, the lidar will judge that the measured target is between these two planes, causing the tail phenomenon. Richbeam Smart Light’s lidar can modify the filtering intensity at the web page end and effectively improve the tailing phenomenon.
Does the laser beam emitted by the lidar harm the human eye?
No, the lidars of Richbeam have obtained Class 1 human eye safety certification, based on IEC/EN60825-1:2014 international standard.
